History

Brad MacCallum founded Kasar Canada Ltd. in Pictou , Nova Scotia in 1998. Located on Canada ' s Atlantic Coast , Kasar had its beginnings in the fishing industry. The experience gained working with seafood processors allowed the company to expand first into other processing industries and later into distribution. In 2000 the company implemented its first HACCP-based food safety program for a distribution centre (DC). From this the company developed and implemented the first national DC program for food safety in Canada . In 2004, Kasar expanded further in to the distribution side of the industry by developing a national transportation food safety program for the Canadian Trucking Alliance.

Kasar now services clients in all ten provinces in Canada and its founder has become a leading and respected expert in the food safety industry.
