Kasar Signs National Distribution Agreement

Kasar Canada Ltd. and the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding establishing Kasar as the CTA’s national distributor for the new Trucking Food Safety Program (TFSP). The TFSP, based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principals, is a “best practice” process to ensure food safety during the transportation of food products. Sponsored by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the program is expected to become the new standard for trucking firms handling food goods in Canada.

“CTA is extremely pleased to enter into an arrangement with Kasar Canada” said Ron Lennox, CTA’s Vice President of Trade and Security.  “HACCP is the wave of the future. We wanted to ensure the trucking industry was ready to meet the increasing demands of our clients.  We believe the program developed by the food safety experts at Kasar, which has been pilot tested by carriers under the guidance of federal officials, will meet or exceed any food shippers’ expectations.”
