Food Safety Funding Available for Food and Beverage Processors

Several provinces recently announced funding assistance for non-federally registered food and beverage processors to assist with the development and implementation of food safety programs.

The Food Safety Initiative (FSI) is part of the Agricultural Policy Framework, a federal-provincial-territorial strategy for long-term sustainability and profitability in the agriculture and agri-food sector. Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia have all entered into partnership with the federal government to make funding available to processors who want to advance food safety within their operations. Other provinces are looking at similar programs. Canada already produces some of the safest food in the world. Adopting enhanced food safety systems will further consumer confidence in food produced in Canada and open new markets for our domestic food products.

Kasar Canada Ltd. is registered with the provincial agriculture departments in each province as a  provider of food safety consulting services to the processing sector.
